About SV Athletics

At St. Veronica the emphasis in sports is placed on development of the child’s skills socially, psychologically and physically. This necessitates teaching the children sportsmanship, healthy competitive spirit, teamwork, commitment and plain fun. The Athletic Director, Sport Coaches and players adhere to this Catholic philosophy of sports. All children, regardless of abilities, have an equal opportunity to participate in our sports program.

What to Expect

The St. Veronica Athletic Program is based on positive coaching principles and is designed to provide a high-quality experience to every student-athlete to include:

  • Has fun playing and learning the game
  • Feels like an important part of the team regardless of performance
  • Learns “life lessons” that have value beyond the playing field
  • Maintains good health through physical exercise and appreciates physical fitness
  • Accepts defeat knowing that they tried their best
  • Promotes and encourages the development of Christian values (character) through interaction with peers
  • Develops the concept of community through the participation in team sports

The pastor and principal oversee the supervision of all athletic teams in the parish. The school employs an Athletic Director, supported by an Assistant Athletic Director, to ensure the team coaches and players are delivered a positive and enjoyable experience.  Further, St. Veronica takes great pride in providing a high standard of coaching, uniforms, equipment and facilities.

Students who participate in St. Veronica’s Athletic Program are required to make the commitment to their St. Veronica team a #1 priority. This means that SV team practices, games and meetings must come first before all other activities, i.e. club teams, city teams, Boy’s and Girl’s Club, etc.

Please note it is currently a PPSL (the governing league) rule that any participant who drops from their school team after the registration deadline date will not be allowed to participate in the same sport the following season.

In addition to students attending St. Veronica School, Religious Education Program participants are welcome to participate in athletic programs as an extra-curricular activity.

There is a mandatory annual membership fee of $60.00 for the Men’s Club. In addition, a $100.00 fee will be charged for each athletic program in which a child participates. These fees, along with additional fundraising income, are used for league registration and uniform, equipment and facilities upkeep.

Giving to St. Veronica Athletics
