STAR tests are taken multiple times a year by grades second through eight. The results are examined by the teachers and administration. Analysis of viewed trends over time are used to determine if changes need to be made to the curriculum.
Examination of individual scores can identify students in need of additional help. Our Resource Program fills this need. It is a five-days-a-week offering staffed by three part-time, highly qualified, veteran teachers. A classroom teacher can also refer a student to the Resource Program. if the student shows signs of academic distress. The resource teachers use a variety of techniques to help diagnose and assess students’ needs in order to design and execute a suitable program that addresses those areas of difficulty.
