Alumnus Daniel Hadfield was a member of the very first class that Mrs. Lucchesi ever taught at SV! He is a former Broker/Owner at the Blackhawk Real Estate Company (he sold his shares in the company in 2009). After attending Serra High School and graduating from Cal Poly University, he made his home in the Tri-Valley. Currently, Dan splits his time between his home in Tuscany, Italy and Scottsdale, Arizona. His passion is traveling and enjoying the Italian culture, as well as swimming, hiking, and camping.
Dan has many fond memories of his years spent at SV. He and most of his siblings attended SV, including Kath (class of 1970), Maureen (class of 1974, deceased 1990), and Barbara (class of 1979). Everyday he walked to and from school with Barbara. His parents, George (deceased in 2000), and Andine, were very active with the parish for over 38 years. In fact, his father painted the church for then-pastor Father Quinn. In addition, Dan was an altar boy, and he would always be asked to serve the 6:30 daily mass, because he could always be counted on to show up!
Sister Patricia was the principal, and one of the memories he has of her is when she was driving a huge Ford LTD and accidentally backed into the basketball court! His favorite teachers were Mrs. Lucchesi in 8th grade as well as Mrs. Janet Reid in 6th grade.
At SV, Dan learned the value of a Catholic-based education. His years at SV, along with the lessons his parents taught him, showed him the importance of being caring, sensitive, and compassionate on a daily basis. These lessons really helped him to achieve his goals and aspirations.
